We are in a time where machine-made design dominates, often stripping away the emotional core that once defined art and design. What was once deeply rooted in expression and human connection is now frequently overshadowed by convenience, speed, and commercial gain. Our practice seeks to shift this narrative by reintroducing emotion, memory, and craftsmanship into contemporary design. Each piece is created not just for function, but to evoke a sense of connection; objects that hold meaning, tell stories, and bring soul into living spaces. By pushing the creative potential of familiar materials through labor-intensive, hand-crafted processes, we aim to inspire a renewed appreciation for experiential and emotionally-driven design. KEPH is all about championing a return to slow design, where individuality and human touch matter.
For us, Sonder is the awareness that every person, much like every meaningful object, carries an inner life which is layered, imperfect, and deeply human; often shaped by care, memory, and lived experience - a sensitised empathy that feels increasingly rare in the world today. In seeking connection and meaning, we instinctively return to our homes: spaces that hold us, both tangibly and intangibly. It is within these spaces that objects begin to take on a deeper role, often becoming vessels through which we seek comfort, belonging, and understanding.
What is seldom acknowledged is the silent power objects hold over us. They shape not only our surroundings, but our identities—who we are, and who we choose to become, every single day. Like people, certain objects possess a soul. Not all, but those that are created with empathy, care, and unwavering intention.
Every creation by KEPH is an embodiment of this belief. We refer to our work as functional pieces of art—objects that carry deeply personal narratives, resonating equally with the maker and the viewer. Our practice consciously resists mass production, profit-driven replication, and systems built on exploitation. Instead, we choose a slower, more intentional path.
KEPH is led by two people—Keyuri and Resheph—who remain intimately involved in every stage of the process. While supported by a small team, we are not merely the faces behind the studio; we are its hands, its heart, and its labor—constantly shifting roles, much like changing hats. This closeness to the process was always fundamental to our vision. To create without detachment is to remain grounded, present, and honest. Because sometimes, it is the journey itself—not the beginning or the end—that holds the deepest meaning.
