introduction

For SIKAO, Megha presents Passing — a body of work exploring the idea of Sonder through intersecting, layered forms that appear to meet, shift, and separate.

Constructed through repeated sculptural units, each piece accumulates into a larger flowing structure. From afar, the works read as singular gestures. Up close, they reveal hundreds of individual elements working in quiet unison.

Light moves across and through these layered compositions, activating depth and revealing contours that feel momentary yet charged with presence.

Rather than attempting to preserve a moment, Passing honours its transience — suggesting that not all encounters are meant to remain, but that even brief crossings can alter space, and us, in subtle ways.

reflection

To me, Sonder is the awareness that every person — and every space — carries unseen layers beyond what is immediately visible.

In this collection, that awareness manifests through repetition and scale. What appears as one bold form is, in reality, composed of countless small elements — each essential to the whole.

I am drawn to the tension between monumentality and intimacy. The visible structure supported by hidden labour. The softness within strength.

Sonder, for me, is not about permanence. It is about recognition — the brief moment of knowing before paths diverge again.
