Siroq emerges from the meeting of Barraq and SIKAO a name born through convergence rather than substitution. It carries forward Barraq’s elemental language of light and stone, while drawing from SIKAO’s ethos of contemplation and emotional depth.
More than a hybrid, SIroq signals a new chapter in which sculptural luminaires move beyond their point of origin, shaped by shared intent and evolving context.
INSPIRATIONS- SIROQ is a sculptural lighting series inspired by the fleeting movement of volcanic clouds.
Hand-carved in alabaster by 10th-generation artisans in India, each piece captures the essence of air in motion—layered, organic, and momentary, yet preserved in stone. The natural veining of alabaster becomes a visual echo of drifting clouds, transforming transient forms into luminous permanence.
SIKAO positions itself as a space where form holds feeling and objects emerge from raw thought, memory, and human experience. This understanding of design as an emotional and cultural act aligns naturally with MUGEN’s sculptural luminaires, which are conceived as quiet propositions rather than resolved design statements. Carved from alabaster shaped over centuries, each piece carries a sense of slowness that invites pause and reflection. Light moves gently through the stone, revealing veining, imperfections, and the presence of the human hand.
At MUGEN, function is never detached from feeling. Objects are shaped to be lived with, not consumed, allowing texture, weight, and light to speak beyond language. Within SIKAO’s landscape of contemplation, our works exist as forms that encourage introspection, connection, and a deeper awareness of material, process, and self.
