My work is rooted in a slow, intuitive making process that celebrates the tactile dialogue between hands and clay. I primarily sculpt by hand rather than use the wheel, allowing each form to evolve organically and retain subtle traces of touch. These marks are not imperfections, but evidence of presence and time.
I work mainly with natural stoneware, often combining raw textures with restrained glazing. I am drawn to earthy pigments, engobes, and transparent glazes that enhance rather than conceal the material’s inherent character.
My inspiration comes from the present moment...I never draw nor plan in advance what I am going to create.
The concept of Sonder — the realization that every person carries a life as vivid and complex as our own — resonates deeply with my practice. Each vessel I create holds a quiet individuality, shaped slowly by hand and marked by subtle variations that make it entirely its own. No two pieces are ever identical, just as no two human stories are the same.
In my work, I intentionally preserve traces of touch, asymmetry, and nuance. These elements reflect the imperfect, layered nature of lived experience. A vessel, much like a person, carries both its visible form and an inner space — a contained world that is not immediately apparent from the outside.
