The work is constructed through an intensive, hands-on process of interlocking iron chains, each link individually connected to build a flexible yet weighted surface. The chains are powder-coated to alter their industrial finish, introducing tonal depth while preserving their inherent strength. Selected sections are then hand- wrapped with thin suede, leather, a slow and intimate process that softens the metal without fully concealing it. This wrapping acts as a skin-protective, restrictive, and tactile-allowing the material to shift between armor and vulnerability. The assembled chains are mounted onto a rigid frame and anchored to a leather sheet, from which they are allowed to hang and drape freely. Gravity completes the form, shaping folds and tensions organically. The process foregrounds artisanal labor, repetition, and touch, emphasizing the dialogue between structure and surrender.
