introduction

The contrast between the "vitreous" (glass-like or ceramic) permanence and the "wilt" of the form suggests an inevitable surrender to gravity. It serves as a metaphor for the entropy of systems whether architectural, societal, or biological, reminding the viewer that even the most solid structures eventually yield to the softening touch of time and decay.

These stoneware works bridge tradition and abstraction. Using the marble technique, I created vessels that rupture to reveal hand-carved Cubist geometries. Simultaneously, I use slab building to create rigid architectural bases, topping them with clay manipulated at peak moisture to mimic melting wax. The result is a permanent, ceramic exploration of gravity, history.

reflection

Sonder explores the realization that every stranger lives a life as complex as our own. My work translates these chaotic inner worlds into form, merging the rugged endurance of Himachal slate architecture and the surreal fluidity of melting wax. These sculptures capture the human condition: a rigid shell reshaped by the heat of internal experience.
